GENEVA -- The electric version of Tata's Indica Vista will be sold in Europe, said the company's chairman, Ratan Tata.

He did not specify dates but said the car would go on sale in continental Europe and the UK.

The Indica Vista EV is being developed and built in Norway by Miljo Grenland/Innovasjon, which is 70 percent owned by Tata Motors European Technical Centre in central England.

Production of the electric Indica, which is expected to have a 200km range on a full charge, will begin at the end of this year.
