Another closed Bill Heard store may be sold and reopened

Classic Chevrolet of Scottsdale, LLC, placed a bid on Monday to buy the Bill Heard Enterprises Inc. store in Plant City, Fla.

The store is the third of the 14 dealerships to receive a bid since Heard Enterprises began peddling them after declaring bankruptcy last month. Serra Automotive Inc. of Grand Blanc, Mich., filed bids Friday for the dealership groupís two Las Vegas-area stores.

Classic Chevroletís owner, GM National Dealer Council member Tom Durant of Grapevine, Texas, told Automotive News Oct. 14 he was obtaining a final sale agreement for one of Heardís two Florida stores.

Durant did not immediately return a call for comment today.

If the bid survives a Nov. 10 auction, the sale will finalize two days later at a court hearing. Classic Chevrolet plans to continue selling Chevrolets at the store, Durant told Automotive News, and todayís court documents confirmed.
