Toyota develops rear seat airbag

Toyota said today that it has developed rear seat airbags to prevent passenger head injuries in a rear-end collision.

The airbag descends from the roof in front of the back window to create a curtainlike barrier. The curtain and headrest work together to minimize passenger impact after from a collision.

Toyota also has developed knee airbags.
