Station wagon to join Cadillac CTS family

A future member of Cadillacís European lineup is going through testing. Production of the CTS station wagon is set to begin early next year at GMís assembly US plant in Lansing, Michigan.

Reports are that the volume for the CTS wagon will be in the range of 10,000 to 12,000 units a year. Most of them will be exported to Europe.

ďIf Cadillac wants to be a player in Europe, it needs a station wagon in that segment,Ē a GM source said. The source said the car should arrive in Europe in summer 2009. The car will compete against the wagon versions of the Mercedes-Benz E class and BMW 5 series.
