STUTTGART -- Porsche's Cayenne will come with an optional 240-hp V-6 diesel beginning next March.

The engine will be sourced from Volkswagen group subsidiary Audi. Porsche had intended to unveil the diesel Cayenne and an updated version of the Boxster roadster in January 2009.

But the automaker pushed back the Cayenne presentation to March to give the entry-level Porsche, which has had slow sales, an exclusive debut at the start of the year.
