Smith is CEO of Jaguar, Land Rover

LONDON — Tata Motors Ltd. named David Smith CEO of Jaguar and Land Rover. Smith, 47, had been Jaguar and Land Rover's CFO. He has been the companies' acting CEO since the April 20 death of CEO Geoff Polites.

Smith, an Englishman, is a veteran Ford finance and strategy expert. Before being appointed CFO on March 1, he was director of finance and strategy for Ford of Europe and the Premier Automotive Group.
