Many top executives speaking at this year's Automotive News Europe Congress will focus on the environmental challenges facing the auto industry.
Valeo CEO Thierry Morin, Delphi Europe boss Guy Hachey and Wolfgang Steiger, Volkswagen group's head of powertrain research, will, in separate presentations, discuss what their companies are doing to lower car emissions.
Other speakers such as Toyota Europe CEO Tadashi Arashima, Bentley Chairman Franz-Josef Paefgen and Fiat group CEO Sergio Marchionne are also expected to highlight their companies' initiatives to build greener cars.
This year's ANE Congress will be held in Turin May 19-20. The program includes individual presentations as well as several panel discussions.
One panel will take an in-depth look at how virtual engineering is changing the way cars are built.
Another will look at the impact of the Web on car retailing. And a third panel will focus on information technology in the car.
The ANE Congress each year brings together more than 400 senior auto-industry executives for two days of discussions on the key challenges and opportunities in the auto business.
This year's Congress also features a celebratory dinner to honor the 25 leading women in the European industry. Among them is ANE's Woman of the Year, Ford of Europe's head of purchasing Birgit Behrendt.
