Hamp rejoins Visteon board

Hamp: Had been on board from 2001-05
DETROIT -- Steven Hamp has been elected to rejoin the Visteon Corp. board of directors.

Hamp, 59, had been on Visteon's board from January 2001 to November 2005, when his brother-in-law, then-Ford Motor Co. CEO Bill Ford, tapped him to be vice president and chief of staff at the automaker. Hamp held that post until October 2006, after Alan Mulally was chosen to run Ford Motor. Since March 2007, Hamp has been the principal of consulting firm Hamp Advisors LLC.

Visteon, of suburban Detroit, supplies interiors, climate control, electronics and lighting. The supplier began a restructuring program in 2006 aimed at cutting costs and paring its product line.
