Bohr, Jacoby will speak at Congress

Bernd Bohr, chairman of Robert Bosch's automotive operations, and Stefan Jacoby, Volkswagen of America CEO, will be among the speakers at the 2008 Automotive News World Congress.

Jacoby will speak the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 23; Bohr will speak that evening.

Bohr has been a member of Bosch's management board since 1999 and chairman of the automotive division since 2003. His responsibilities include chassis, brake, diesel and gasoline-engine systems.

He has held a number of positions since joining Bosch's automotive operations in 1983. He worked for three years at Nippon ABS Ltd., a Japan-based joint venture with Nippon Air Brake Co. Ltd. that ended in 1996.

Jacoby has held a number of senior sales positions with VW since joining the company in 1985. From October 2001 until his return to VW in February 2004, he was CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Europe B.V. Since being named Volkswagen of America CEO in July, Jacoby has spearheaded the company's goal to sell 1 million vehicles in the United States by 2018

Jacoby has said VWoA will count on resized versions of the Jetta and Passat to generate most of the company's U.S. sales. A new North American assembly plant also could be in the works.
