  • Bob Rohrman of the Bob Rohrman Auto Group in Lafayette, Ind., donated $3.5 million toward the building of the $9 million Rohrman Center for the Performing Arts at Jefferson High School in Lafayette. Ground was broken in May. Bob Rohrman Auto Group, with dealerships in Illinois and Indiana, ranks No. 26 on the Automotive News list of the top 125 dealership groups in the United States with 2006 retail sales of 19,626 new vehicles.


  • Symes Automotive Group moved and expanded Toyota of Pasadena in Pasadena, Calif. John Symes is CEO of the company, which also sells Cadillacs, Saabs and Land Rovers in Pasadena.

Golden anniversary

Ralph Forbes, center, of Forbes Motors Inc. (Pontiac-Cadillac-GMC-Buick), in Waterloo, Ontario, receives a 50-year award for Pontiac, Buick and GMC from General Motors of Canada. At left is John Bailey, GM of Canada’s general directors of sales. At right is Marc Comeau, GM of Canada’s vice president for sales, service and marketing. Forbes is a past president of the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association and a director of the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn, Mich.
