Fetters, Ford join staff

Automotive News has hired Tom Fetters as a copy editor and Lauren Ford as a regional sales executive.

Fetters, 47, has been a copy editor for 24 years. He was with Automotive News from 1995 to 1999. For the past seven years he worked in the features department of The Blade, a daily newspaper in Toledo, Ohio, where he edited articles and designed pages.

Before his first stint at Automotive News, Fetters worked 10 years in The Blade's news, business and features departments. He also has been a copy editor and sports editor at Viewdata Corp. of America, a former videotext company, and a reporter and sports editor at the Albion Evening Recorder, a newspaper in his hometown of Albion, Mich.

Fetters graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in journalism.

Lauren Ford, 22, will be based in Los Angeles and will handle advertising and sponsorship sales in California.

She graduated from Michigan State University in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in advertising. She started her career as an intern with Crain Communications Inc., which publishes Automotive News.

Most recently she was project manager for Classic Party Rentals in Santa Ana, Calif.
