At Dallas Dealership… VW Sales Fired Up

Dallas- Lyle Ozmum Motors, Inc. (Volkswagen), credits the gas infra-red heating system for a number of ‘assists’ in building sales.

The system makes possible more efficient and faster service because employees are comfortable, contributes to first class paint jobs by keeping autos at correct temperatures, and builds customer goodwill by keeping an outside area warm for “conferences” between customers and the service advisor, Ozmum said.

From the customer relations standpoint, he added, there’s even a “plus” in the fact that the system permits doors to remain open at intervals in the winter. He feels that visitors and passers by gain a favorable impression from the busy work they see going on inside.

Before building this modern center, Ozmum had used only warm-air units to heat previous buildings. He said he felt that a still, draftless heat, such as that provided by radiant-type heaters would be better for his operations.

As a result he began to install Perfection Schwank, gas infra-red heaters as soon as the new service center was completed early in 1964. At that time 13 units were installed in the main service center.
