To the Editor:This is in response to the Aug. 29 letter from R.M. MacGregor titled "Toyota ad called insult to dealers." Wait a minute, this guy really should watch the ad again before shooting off a letter to the editor.
MacGregor says, the ad "shows a Toyota dealer berating his daughter for a deal she made."
That is incorrect. The ad shows a daughter, a Toyota sales rep, who is trying to sell her father a car. He is not a Toyota dealer, he is a customer.
When the daughter shows him the "great" deal, he gets mad, saying she'll get fired for selling a car at that price.
MacGregor goes on to accuse Toyota of insulting its dealers by portraying them as people who would yell at their daughters.
Again, the man in the commercial who was yelling is not portraying a dealer.
