German new-car sales up 8%

The German auto market grew by almost 8 percent in November compared with the same month last year. Around 276,000 new passenger cars were registered in Germany last month. B&D Forecast expects around 240,000 car sales in December.

Penske takes control of German lighting supplier

Penske Corporation, a U.S. transportation services company, has taken full control of FER Fahrzeugelektrik, a German engineering supplier.

FER Fahrzeugelektrik, based in Eisenach, Germany, manufactures LED and other new and alternative lighting systems.

Penske bought 50 percent of FER's shares in 1992.
