Mahag now sells Kias too

Munich. Since October 15, the Mahag Volkswagen dealer group of Munich has also been selling Porsche and Kia vehicles.

For now, the Korean brand is available in two Munich-based branches. A third outlet in Ulm will follow soon.

Mahag Managing Director Thomas Werthmann hopes to sell about 600 to 700 vehicles a year. To him, Kia's wide product range was - 11 models from the sporty Picanto to the compact Pregio truck - was a key factor in choosing to add the Korean brand.

Haydan Leshel, Kia's new managing director for Germany, said: "Currently, 800 out of the 200,000 Kias on German roads are driving through Munich. We want this number to go up to 1,000 by the end of this year."

About 60 percent of Kia dealers in Germany sell other brands at the same outlet.
