Delphi Germany plans ignition systems expansion

Wuppertal/Furth, Germany. Delphi Germany plans to take over the automotive ignitions supplier Dynamit Nobel AIS.

Officials said that the acquisition process should be finalized in September.

Dynamit Nobel AIS has 200 employees and had sales of about 43 million euros in 2003.

The company also manufactures micro gas generators and drive assemblies for airbag generators.

Delphi, a leading automotive supplier, manufactures diesel injection systems as part of its wide range of products.

Dynamit Nobel AIS is part of MG Technologies based in Frankfurt. MG Technologies already has sold four of Dynamit-Nobel Group's five business sectors to Rockwood Specialities Group, of Princeton, New Jersey, USA.

MG Technologies declined to comment on a possible sale of Dynamit Nobel AIS.
