Shell introduces new kind of diesel

Hamburg. Shell Deutschland Oil will start introducing a new type of diesel in the near future. The fuel was developed in cooperation with the VW Group.

The so-called "V-power diesel" contains special additives and a synthetic component that is derived from natural gas.

The compound should increase the performance of modern diesel engines and lower both consumption and pollutant emissions.

At the market launch Shell will charge 9.9 cents a liter for the new fuel. It costs between 5 and 7 cents more than its standard diesel, which will still be on sale.

The new diesel will be available in all of Austria from the end of June, and all over Germany by the end of September.
