This year Audi TV will only be beamed into workshops in Germany on a few occasions, but starting next year the technology programs will be shown more regularly and will be transmitted to international service locations.
The films, which are produced in cooperation with studios in Bavaria, are part of the Audi's overall upgrade in the training of its service providers.
The company recently finished construction of its 3,200-square-meter Audi Service Training Center (STC) in Ingolstadt.
"The STC will set new international standards in regard to our service partners' qualification," Dietmar Hildebrandt, head of sales, customer services and components service at Audi, promised.
Mechanics will benefit from the center, but its primary purpose is to train Audi's 118 importers worldwide. In so-called "train the trainer" courses, the importers gain technical expertise from Audi and pass it on within their individual markets.
Exactly 296 trainers from the technology and electronics sectors and 94 trainers for body shell and painting technologies will be updated on the latest technologies at the center every year.
The participants are being taught in five training rooms. To make the teaching come alive "we combined each theory room with a practice room," Hildebrandt said.
