Large contracts for Magna drivetrain

Lannach, Austria. The Canadian Magna group has managed to get two of the largest all-wheel drive contracts that have ever been awarded.

From 2007, Magna will manufacture all-wheel drives for a General Motors SUV platform in the US. A minimum of one million units is planned.

In Europe, the supplier received a contract from VW for the development and the manufacture of the successor system to the 4Motion all-wheel drive.

Magna did not disclose the target sales volume. The transmission systems by newly founded Magna Drivetrain are manufactured in Lannach, Austria.

On top of the existing drive train plants in Austria and Mexico two further plants will be built in the USA.
