Quelle stops Golf sales

Fuerth. At the end of February, mail-order company Quelle will remove the new Volkswagen Golf from its range.

Quelle partner Carplus said the sales volume of the model, which went on the market last September, is significantly lower than originally planned despite a price advantage of between 16 and 17 percent.

But Carplus did not confirm press reports that it would replace the Golf with the new Opel Astra, which will hit the market in March. Carplus stressed that although the new Astra is a very interesting model for Quelle there has been no definite decision yet if and when the car would be taken into the Quelle offer.

Since the beginning of 2004 Quelle has offered its range of vehicles in a separate automobile catalogue.
