Good auto year in Austria

Vienna. New car sales in Austria rose by nearly 10 percent in November.

Austrian dealers delivered 21,151 vehicles to their customers -- an increase of 9.38 percent compared to the same time in 2002.

Austrian auto sales for 2003 are expected to be 296,000, an increase of 6.1 percent compared to 2002.

The top ten models are: VW Golf and Polo, Skoda Fabia, Renault Megane, Audi A4, Peugeot 206, VW Passat, Ford Focus, Peugeot 307 and the BMW 3-Series.

The regions of Burgenland and Tirol had the highest sales increase in November, followed by Upper Austria, Lower Austria, Salzburg and Styria.
