Peugeot 407, Sesame available from 2004

Saarbruecken, Germany. The successor to the Peugeot 406, the 407, will not be presented at the IAA as originally planned but at the end of 2003.

Its market launch is planned for the beginning of the second half of 2004. The 'Sesame', a small car with sliding doors, will also be launched in 2004. It is not supposed to become a successor to the 206 but will be positioned slightly higher, priced from 12,000 euros. The 206 successor will be launched in 2005.

In March 2004 PSA will introduce the service-free diesel particulate filter with a running life of 200,000km. It will be used in the new V6 diesel model by the end of 2004. The launch of the new Euro-4 diesels with particulate filters (1.6l and 2.0l capacity) will be postponed by a few months and the engines will now be presented in November 2003 and will be available from the beginning of 2004.
