Ford offers German dealers registration bonuses

Cologne. Ford-Werke AG has responded to complaints by German dealers that have received too little sales support in a difficult, competitive market by substantially increasing some of its registration bonuses. It is hoped that higher grants will increase the brand's sales.

On the sale of a stock vehicle, for example the Ka (with the exception of Streetka), Ford will now grant a registration bonus of 5 percent of the factory price. For Fiesta models, including the new Fusion, dealers will receive 7 percent.

For the Focus (exclusive of the RS) the bonus will be 8 percent, and for the Galaxy 9 percent. The highest bonuses will be given for the Mondeo, which will have received a general facelift by July. For models built in 2002 with petrol engines the bonus is 10.5 percent, for diesel versions it is 13.5 percent. For new Mondeos of the model year 2003, which have been configured according to the clients' wishes, a 7 percent bonus will be given. If a Blaupunkt navigation system is fitted there will be an additional 2 percent. For the part exchange of second hand cars Ford will give grants of up to 2,000 euros above the Schwacke-price. For the Focus the so-called "used-car-overpayment" is 1,500 euros.
