Valeo to close more plants

Paris. French supplier Valeo continues its restructuring program in 2003. The group, which operated 140 plants worldwide at the end of 2002, plans to reduce that number to less than 130 by the end of this year.

During the first quarter of 2003 the number had already decreased to 132. The recent closures include a switch and detection systems factory in Fort Worth, Texas, USA; a lighting systems plant in Barcelona; and an electronics engineering factory at Jablonec, Czech Republic.
