Fiat contract negotiations in final stages

Frankfurt. Fiat Automobil AG and the Dealers' association for Fiat and Lancia have agreed on future standards for sales and service.

Dealer spokesman Friedrich-Karl Bonten, some open points with regard to standards for service partners are being negotiated in Brussels.

"One of the points concerned is the equipment at the reception of a repair shop," he said.

There are different opinions of what the standard definition should be.

No decision has been made yet over the key performance measures for the future margin system. This is to be included in the EU price harmonization negotiations with the European Fiat dealers association in Turin on May 8.

The final stages of negotiations between the German dealers' association and the importer will begin on May 14.

Both parties hope to reach an agreement at a meeting today (April 28) on the future network structure, which will include dealers, brokers and repair shops.
