Czech plant to build small cars

TOKYO - Toyota Motor Corp. and PSA Peugeot Citroen SA selected Kolin, Czech Republic, as the site of their previously announced joint small-car plant. The $1.2 billion plant, with an annual capacity of 300,000 units, is expected to begin production of 1.0-liter gasoline and 1.4-liter diesel-powered vehicles in 2005 for sale as Toyotas, Peugeots and Citroens. Toyota will get one-third of the plant's annual output.
