CarMax revenues, sales rise

RICHMOND, Va. — CarMax Group reported revenues of $774.8 million for its 2002 fiscal third quarter that ended Nov. 30, a 38 percent increase from $561.7 million for the same period last year.

The company also said its unit sales were up 31 percent for the quarter compared with the third quarter of fiscal 2001. CarMax does not release sales numbers, but based on revenues, it sold an esti-mated 44,127 used and 4,615 new vehicles during its third quarter.
