Delphi to close Italian plant

DETROIT — Delphi Automotive Systems Corp. of Troy, Mich., will close its plant in Desio, Italy, by the second quarter of 2002.

The plant, which has 96 employees, produces door latches, wiring harnesses and suspension modules for the European market. Delphi will transfer the Desio plant’s production to its other locations in Europe and Asia.
