To the Editor:

Your Sept. 3 article, "Jaguar taps journalist for exec post," provided additional sadness for me during the recent day of national mourning.

That there appears to be little opportunity for good people to advance at Ford is a major contributor to the low morale among its front-line workers and the preponderance of silly and morally thin decisions made by its former leadership.

I look forward to this nation being united through the Sept. 11 tragedy and strengthened by the sound, moral decisions of its leaders.

I also look forward to a Ford Motor Co. that is under a leadership that values sanity above diversity and experience above inexperience.
