Covisint fills top sales, marketing position

DETROIT - Daron Gifford of Deloitte Consulting will take on the top sales and marketing job at Covisint LLC, the automotive industry exchange.

Gifford, who was global automotive practice leader at Deloitte Consulting in Detroit, begins his new job as executive vice president of global sales and marketing at Covisint Monday, Nov. 26.

He fills the vacancy left when Jacqui Dedo left Covisint in August after eight months on the job. Gifford, who could not be reached for comment, will be responsible for attracting more suppliers and automakers to the exchange.

Covisint offers customers tools to help them make purchases over the Internet, collaborate more closely with their key suppliers and bring together all parties involved in product development.

Gifford is a 25-year veteran of the automotive industry and management consulting.

He has worked with automakers and suppliers on many issues, such as merger integration, rapid product development and innovation, customer relationship management, lean manufacturing and supply chain integration.
