  • DETROIT - Robert Lutz is among five leading design professionals scheduled to attend the AutoWeek design forum.

    The newly named chairman of General Motors North America will join designers Chris Bangle of BMW AG, Ian Callum of Jaguar Cars Ltd., Fabrizio Giugiaro of Italdesign and Thomas Stemple of Nissan Design America.

    The Jan. 9 event is held in conjunction with the Detroit auto show. AutoWeek is a sister publication of Automotive News.

    At a dinner that evening, AutoWeek will present its Editor's Choice Awards for the Best in Show, Most Fun, Most Significant and Best Concept at the auto show.

    Also during the dinner Automotive News will announce its Concept Car of the Year award winners. The award recognizes leading concept styles and vehicles unveiled at auto shows around the world.

    First- through third-place honors will be announced, as well as best Environmental Concept, Interior Concept and Exterior Concept.
