JCI JV opens plant in India

MILWAUKEE - Amara Raja Batteries Ltd. and Johnson Controls Inc. of Milwaukee, Wis., have opened a 150,000-square-foot automotive and industrial battery manufacturing plant in Tirupati, Tamil Nadu, India.

The plant has about 150 employees. Its customers include General Motors, Ford Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler.
