Isuzu names high-end SUV

LOS ANGELES — American Isuzu Motors Inc. will call its new flagship sport-utility the Ascender, the company said Friday, Nov. 2. The vehicle will go on sale next fall.

The Ascender will top the company’s lineup, replacing the Trooper. It will share a General Motors platform with the Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL. It will be built at GM’s Moraine, Ohio, plant beginning in September.
