Lambda lives

Robert Lutz, General Motors vice chairman for product development, shed some light on the proposed Lambda platform for front- and all-wheel-drive crossover vehicles in Tokyo.

"I think it very definitely has a future," he said. "But where we will sequence it is uncertain a this point."

The platform, which would be used for minivans, sport wagons and possibly pickups, reportedly is slated for a plant to be built in Delta Township near Lansing, Mich.
