Kia narrows marketing candidates

Kia Motors America is close to choosing a new marketing chief. The automaker has "three or less candidates," said Kia spokesman Geno Effler.

The position has been open since April, when Executive Vice President Dick Macedo, who oversaw marketing, resigned at age 60. Kia President B.M. Ahn has assumed Macedo's duties in the interim.

Rick Weisehan, Kia's director of marketing, is not a candidate, Effler said.
