A never-ending quest

The Big 3, most notably Ford, are raising the bar on suppliers and making continuous improvement a cornerstone of their supplier quality recognition programs.

Ford, in particular, has learned the perils of complacency, which had to be a factor in the troubles that have plagued recent product launches.

With continuous improvement as a key measurement, not only does the challenge for suppliers and automakers increase; it is sure to get tougher. It's more work, but it's worth it.
