Moersdorf to head Budd Co.

DETROIT - Wolfram Moersdorf has been named CEO of Budd Co. in Troy, Mich., succeeding Siegfried Buschmann, who continues as chairman of the board.

Buschmann also remains president of ThyssenKrupp USA Inc., a holding company for ThyssenKrupp companies, including Budd, in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Moersdorf, 52, most recently was a member of the executive board of Thyssen Umformtechnik + Guss of Bochum, Germany, which supplies body systems and castings to automotive and other customers. He joined the Thyssen Group in 1994 as a member of the executive board of Thyssen Guss AG in Essen, Germany.

Buschmann, 64, has been chairman and CEO of Budd since 1989. He joined Budd as a senior vice president in 1982. Before joining Budd, Buschmann held an executive position at Thyssen AG.

Budd supplies sheet metal stampings, composite body panels, chassis modules and subframes, prototypes, bumpers and bumper reinforcements, cold-weather products and airbag components.
