New Fiesta uses SKF bearings

GOTEBORG, Sweden - SKF Group has been selected to supply wheel bearings for the new Ford Fiesta that will go on sale in 2002.

SKF, of Goteborg, Sweden, valued the deal at $184.5 million, at current exchange rates, over the life of the contract. Annual global production of the Fiesta is expected to be 1 million vehicles.

SKF will supply wheel bearing units for all four corners. The front wheel bearing units also include an integrated ABS encoder.
