GM plants to halt in remembrance

General Motors said it will close all of its U.S. plants for two half-shifts on Friday in observance of President Bush's proclaimed "National Day of Prayer and Remembrance."

The automaker closed down the first shift at 11:30 a.m. eastern time and will close down the second shift at the dinner breaks.
