Visteon forms voice subsidiary

DETROIT - Visteon Corp. formed a subsidiary called Infinitive Speech Systems LLC, which will work with Visteon's joint development partner SpeechWorks to develop speech-recognition technology for the automotive and consumer markets.

The companies will develop technology for products such as in-vehicle computers, satellite digital audio systems, navigation systems and MP3 radio systems.

In North America, Infinitive is in Newton, Mass. Its European headquarters is in Bristol, England. Thirty Visteon employees are working for the subsidiary.
