DETROIT - This is the last week for auto suppliers to apply for the 2002 Automotive News PACE Awards program.

The application deadline is Sept. 10. The competition, sponsored by Automotive News and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, honors auto suppliers for innovation, technological advancement and business performance.

The eighth annual Automotive News PACE Awards program is open to all suppliers with operations in North America or Europe. Winners will be selected in seven categories: product innovation; innovations developed in Europe; supply chain management, build/locate to order; information technology; B2B/customer relationship management; supplier/OEM partnership; and an open category for innovations that don't fit into the above areas.

The application fee is $995. Independent judges will select finalists and winners. Winners will be honored at a ceremony in Detroit on March 4, 2002.
