Brussels: Tenneco promotes managing director to executive vice president

Supplier Tenneco Automotive of the United States has a new executive vice president and managing director for its European business unit.

He is Hari Nair. Nair, 41, had been senior vice president and managing director of the international group. He spent the past two years working with emerging markets operations in Asia and South America. Last year he was given responsibility for the company's Japanese original equipment business worldwide. Nair joined Tenneco in 1987. He replaces Richard Sloan, who retired in June.

Timothy Donovan, 45, took over for Nair. He had been senior vice president and general counsel. Donovan helped negotiate the company's alliance with Japanese exhaust supplier Futaba Industrial Co. Ltd.
