Suppliers: Time to pick up the PACE

DETROIT — Auto suppliers still have time to apply for the 2002 Automotive News PACE Awards program.

The application deadline is Sept. 10 for the eighth annual competition, co-sponsored with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. The program honors auto suppliers for innovation, technological advancement and business performance.

This year’s seven categories are: product innovation; innovations developed in Europe; supply chain management, build/locate to order; information technology; B2B/customer relationship management; supplier/OEM partnership; and an open category for innovations that don’t fit into the above areas.

There is a $995 application fee.

The Automotive News PACE Awards program is open to all suppliers with operations in North America or Europe.

Winners will be announced on March 4, 2002.
