Safety bureau sees use of airbags on some cars in 1970

WASHINGTON - The National Highway Safety Bureau indicated last Wednesday (May 14) that vehicle makers could begin installing airbag systems on some models by the fall of 1970, and that by 1973 all vehicles could have them.
