INDIANAPOLIS - Ford Motor Co., rocking the world of traditional auto dealerships in the United States, wants to acquire control of all Ford and Lincoln-Mercury dealerships in Indianapolis.

Robert Rewey, Ford group vice president of marketing and sales, said the company may make similar offers to dealers in other medium-sized and metropolitan markets in the United States. He declined to be specific.
