A look back at cars and light trucks that exited the U.S. market in 2013.
VW, with goals of becoming a high-volume brand in the United States, was counting on the Routan minivan to add incremental sales when it went on sale in 2008. Instead, the minivan market continued to shrink and VW couldn't compete with established Dodge, Honda and Toyota models. It has sold fewer than 59,000 Routan minivans to date, with volume peaking at just 15,961 units in 2010. Most of the Routans sold this year were destined for internal roles such as VW's corporate fleet.
