Cars and light trucks that waved goodbye in 2012

A look back at cars and light trucks that were given a pink slip in the U.S. market and headed for the sunset during 2012.

Dodge Caliber

A replacement for the Neon in the Dodge lineup, the Caliber was phased out this year to make room for the Dart, Chrysler's Group's first bonafide compact car in years. Originally created to give Dodge some European mojo when small cars where largely out of favor with U.S. buyers, and crossovers were gaining popularity, the Caliber became a mainstay of rental fleets. Dodge sold over 400,000 Calibers since its debut in 2006, including 101,079 in 2007. It was built in the same Belvidere, Ill., plant as the Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot.
