Cars and light trucks that waved goodbye in 2012

A look back at cars and light trucks that were given a pink slip in the U.S. market and headed for the sunset during 2012.

Acura ZDX

Honda Motor Co.'s Acura division announced plans in October to drop the ZDX after the 2013 model year. The ZDX, introduced in 2009 as a premium sporty hatchback amid the industry's sales downturn, is built in the same Alliston, Ontario, factory as the Acura MDX. The styling never caught fire with U.S. buyers so ZDX output will be discontinued in conjunction with the transfer of the MDX to Honda's Lincoln, Ala., plant early next year. The 2013 Acura ZDX will be sold as a single, valued-added package.
