The North American auto show season resumed this week with a slew of new and refreshed car and light-truck models in the spotlight in Los Angeles.

2013 Toyota RAV4

The redesigned Toyota RAV4 goes on sale in January but won't be offered with a V-6 engine anymore. And the spare tire has been moved underneath - giving the RAV4 a hatchback feel.The revamped baby crossover's 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine will be paired with a new 6-speed automatic transmission. Both front- and all-wheel drive will be offered. Two driving modes -- Sport and Eco -- will be available. Estimated fuel economy is 24 miles per gallon in the city and 31 highway, with all-wheel-drive models at 22/29.
