The 2018 BMW 6-series GT will be offered in one trim: the 640i xDrive, which is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter, inline-six gasoline engine producing 335 hp and 332 pounds-feet of torque. Some call it a successor to the discontinued 5-series GT. The 6-series GT is based on the rwd CLAR architecture. he model attempts to improve on a unique vehicle concept first brought to market with the bulkier-looking BMW 5-series GT. BMW cut an average of 331 pounds from the vehicle despite extending the car by 3.4 inches. It also lowered the car's height and gave it a more sloping tail section, which reduced the drag coefficient to as little as 0.25 versus 0.29 for its predecessor. The GT variant joins the 6-series convertible and Gran Coupe. The 6-series GT is set to start at $70,695, including shipping.
